World rating awaits for winner of Dib vs. Elliot clash

BOXING returns to the Emporium Function Centre in Bankstown on May 31st with ‘No Fear’, an explosive evening of local professional boxing talent headlined by Billel ‘Babyface’ Dib, who will face Brent ‘Ginger Ninja’ Elliott for the vacant WBO Oriental super featherweight title and top-fifteen world rating up for grabs.

The card will be live streamed globally on GoFightLive for only $9.99 via www.gfl.tv website.

The main event will feature two-time Australian super featherweight champion Billel Dib (13-1, 5 KOs) against Queensland’s Brent Elliott (11-4-4, 3 KOs) over twelve rounds at super featherweight.

“This fight is paving the way to the world stage for me, successfully beating Brent on May 31st will put me on the world stage. I can’t wait, what better way to fight then in your hometown” said Dib.

“This fight is a massive opportunity for me. Winning opens up several doors. I’m going to do everything humanly possible to come home with that belt, because it’s the key to me furthering my career,” said Elliot. “I don’t know exactly what to expect. I’m just preparing for this fight like it’s a world title, and he is a quality opponent that I’ll have to be at my best to beat.”

In the main support, undefeated PABA super middleweight titlist Ben McCulloch (13-0, 10 KOs) will be defending his PABA strap as he attempts to further his WBA #9 world rating, in line for big opportunities to come for him later this year.

“This fight is like every other fight for me, a chance to display my skills and talent, entertain and arouse, exercise my demons and use my hand speed, power and defence to gain victory while my career ascent continues to blossom,” says McCulloch.

At the heavier end of the scale, heavy handed Shane Quinn (8-1-1, 6 KOs) will be squaring up against 6’2 Brett Peters (7-1, 6 KOs) over six exciting rounds of tough leather in the cruiserweight division.

Also scheduled to appear on the card are a further six professional bouts including current New South Wales titlist Ahmed Dib, undefeated Kiwi Dylan Emery, undefeated Irish/Jamaican Tony Senior, local Bankstown boy Rabih Derbas as well as Frenchman Matias Collados, who will be having his second fight in Australia.
