TONIGHT at 7:00 PM (AEST) from the Nerang PCYC, Australia’s premier live streaming service Live Boxing will be providing exclusive live coverage for tonight’s non televised card.
The four-fight card will be headlined by talented super-middleweight prospect Rohan Murdock (13-1, 10 KOs), who was looking to continue his impressive run of results against Iranian Gavad Zohrehvand (13-1, 0 KOs).
However, Zohrehvand had issues obtaining a VISA into Australia and was forced to withdraw on the week of the fight. Given the notice and difficulty Murdock’s team already have finding opponents, a replacement was always going to be difficult. In stepped Jody Allen (2-15, 1 KO) – who will hopefully provide Murdock with some rounds.
The fight will serve as a warm-up for Murdock, who is currently in negotiations to face the formerly world-rated Serge Yannick on July 30th.
Murdock, 22, who holds the WBO Asia Pacific Youth strap and a WBO #15 world rating, is arguably one of the best prospects in a stacked super middleweight division – which boasts a handful of talented fighters alongside Murdock – including Jake Carr and Zac Dunn amongst many others.
The card, promoted by Stephen Ng’s No Excuses Promotions will also feature former WBC womens title challenger Shannon O’Connell (8-3, 5 KOs), who will be making her highly anticipated return to the super bantamweight division against Gentiane Lupi after successive fights in higher weight divisions.
O’Connell, 31, is a former titleholder that is looking to rebound from a spirted effort in her last fight against WBC womens super featherweight titlist Dianna Prazak. The fight will also mark O’Connell’s first fight under the Fightcard Promotions banner, who signed the Queenslander shortly after the Prazak fight.
Also featuring on the undercard is the unbeaten welterweight Tommy Szeremi (2-0-2, 1 KO), who will attempt to reignite his stop-start journey as a professional against Brisbane-based Thai Pramool Boonpok (0-4). Also on the card, light heavyweights Shane Wood (1-3) and Brad Traynor (1-3-1) meet in a four-round fight.
Tonight’s four-fight card will be streamed live from the Nerang PCYC and will start at 7PM (AEST), costing $9.95 on liveboxing.com.au.
