Rohan Murdock shows No Mercy, retires Manny Siaca in six

MANNY Siaca returned to Australia in the hope of finding a much-needed career lifeline.

Instead, the former WBA super middleweight champion may have found a one-way ticket to retirement as he found himself on the receiving end of a one-sided drubbing, with Rohan ‘No Mercy’ Murdock showing exactly that, forcing the likeable Puerto Rican to retire on his tool after six rounds at Jupiters Casino in Broadbeach, Queensland.

Murdock, 22, floored Siaca in the second round of a scheduled ten, showing maturity beyond his years as the popular Nerang product (now 16-1, 13 KOs) put together a near punch perfect display.

Siaca, 38, used all of the ring intelligence garnered throughout his seventeen years of professional prize-fighting to hang on after looking all but finished after two rounds of one-way traffic.

The Puerto Rican (now 25-8, 20 KOs) shows flashes of his former self, as he expertly dictated the pace on a handful of occasions, but the moment, in addition to the unenviable amount of leather thrown by Murdock proved to be too much for Siaca.

“Big respect to Manny for putting up a tough fight, he was obviously the exa WBA world champ for a reason,” said Murdock on his Facebook profile post-fight. “This is just the beginning, we want the top,”

Siaca leaves Australia with two losses over the course of three fights against Anthony Mundine, Danny Green and now Rohan Murdock. Murdock is scheduled to close out the year in a non-title appearance in Southport against an opponent that is yet to be named.

With his world rating secured and the WBO Asia Pacific bauble strapped firmly around his waist, Murdock will look to continue his steady ascent as his opposition continues to improve.
