LEAPAI LANDS IN GERMANY FOR DATE WITH DESTINY

 
Alex Leapai along with Noel Thornberry and his team have safely arrived in Germany, only days before his historic heavyweight world title tilt against divisional kingpin Wladimir Klitschko.

 
Leapai, 34, finished his final preparations in Brisbane last week after an arduous training camp with sparring partners Razvan Cojanu, Bowie Tupou and Solomon Haumono amongst many others.

 
Upon his departure from Brisbane Airport, Leapai spoke confidently about his chances as he attempts to become the first Australian to capture the lineal heavyweight world title.

“I’m really fired up to win this,” said Leapai moments before his departure. “I’m going to prove to the world that anyone can turn their life around and be successful if they work hard and surround themselves with good people.”

 
Before sponsorship, Leapai will earn a whopping 1.5 million dollars for his efforts against Klitschko, regardless of outcome.

BILLY DIB PREPARES FOR RELAUNCH
 

Former IBF featherweight champion Billy ‘The Kid’ Dib has taken to Twitter to express his excitement ahead of his pending announcement to re-establish himself as a super featherweight title contender.

While an official announcement has yet to be made, it is expected Dib and his team, headed by manager Emaid Dib and promoter SMS Promotions will announce a fight abroad as Dib attempts to make a statement in his return to the ring.

Dib, 28, returned to training at the Bodypunch Boxing Gym in Sydney with head trainer Billy Hussein as light preparations took place for Dib’s relaunch.

 
“I am currently in contract with SMS Promotions,” said Dib in an exclusive interview with Aus-Boxing. “I have no doubt that by working closely with them I can put myself in the position to win numerous world titles over the next few years of my career.”

 
LOVETT CONTINUES WINNING WAYS ABROAD

 
Promising Australian light heavyweight Steve ‘Tough Love’ Lovett has continued his impressive rise in the US with a second-round TKO win over Daniel Allotey.

 
Lovett, 29, who is under the tutelage of highly regarded trainer Ronnie Shields, made it two knockout victories in two months, adding to his second-round knockout over Francisco Molina on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs. Alfredo Angulo last month.

 
“I’ve been working hard with Ronnie Shields in the gym,” said Lovett. “They’re getting the best of me and I feel like I’m getting better every week.”

 
With the win, Lovett improves his unbeaten professional log to 9-0, with seven knockouts.
