Brandon Ogilvie vs. Darragh Foley signed for March 12th
BRANDON Ogilvie will face big-punching Darragh Foley on a huge night of boxing at Sydney’s Olympic Park.
The WBA #12 world rated Ogilvie will defend his WBA affiliated regional title against the recently crowned Australian lightweight champion Foley in a fight that promises nothing but fireworks on March 12th.
The card, which is tentatively scheduled to feature four title fights, including an intriguing stylistic collision between unbeaten duo Paul Ogedengbe and Daniel Jones, will be televised on tape delay by Fox Sports.
Speaking from his Sydney base, Paul Nasari of Neutral Corner Promotions spoke with enthusiasm having secured a salivating local matchup with a stacked undercard in addition to an inaugural event on the subscription giant.
“It’s very humbling, it’s a buzz,” said event promoter Paul Nasari in a brief interview with Aus-Boxing.
“I cannot wait to show the Australian public what Neutral Corner Promotions is all about,”
“The good match ups are exactly what the public wants to see – that will bring the crowds back – I kid you not,”
Ogilvie, 22, has won eight consecutive fights since suffering his lone career blemish and has flourished since committing himself to the sport last year, securing state and regional title honours in Western Australia.
Under the guidance of head trainer Tony Del Vecchio, Foley, 27, had a breakout year in 2015, scoring impressive finishes over the previously world rated Valentine Borg while halting Miles Zalewski in a singular round.
For those reasons alone, Nasari is expecting a fight that is a can’t-miss in terms of action.
“Nobody wanted to fight Darragh Foley because he’s an explosive product,” continued Nasari. “He’s been knocking out all the top-liners as everybody can see and Brandon Ogilvie is one of our best prospects,”
“He took up the challenge against the man that nobody wanted to fight,”
“This matchup will be an absolute war,” concluded Nasari. “Fox Sports deserves a fight like this.”
