RICHARDSON Hitchins saved the best performance of his career for his biggest night in New York.

In his homecoming, the IBF world champion made a successful first defence of his crown, halting Australia’s George Kambosos (now 22-4, 10 KOs) in the eighth round.

Hitchins (now 20-0, 8 KOs) dominated the brave challenger, who was folded by a body-shot from the local favourite.
