IT was a break-out calendar year for Ebanie Bridges.

The former Maths teacher relocated to London, linking up with renowned mentor Mark Tibbs in a campaign that saw Bridges dethrone long-time IBF champion Mariá Cecilia Román.

Bridges (9-1, 4 KOs) ended her year with a dominant first title defence against Australian rival Shannon O’Connell in December.
