Live Stream Preview: May vs. Mokoginta ($9.99 PPV)

TONIGHT from the Italian Club in Western Australia, promoter Ty Colman of CDL Promotions presents a six fight card headlined by promising super featherweight prospect Nathaniel May (6-1, 4 KOs), who will face rugged Indonesian James Mokoginta (25-13-2, 13 KOs) over ten rounds for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Youth bauble.

May was originally scheduled to face Waylon Law in a highly anticipated rematch – won by Law earlier in the year – but Law had to withdraw injured as he suffered a grade two tear in his right bicep.

“That’s boxing, I’m not going to let it upset me too much,” admitted May. “I’m still focused on what task I have ahead of me, my team and management will keep my dreams alive.”

Promoter Ty Colman furthered May’s sentiment, acknowledging that injuries do happen as the show goes on in typically professional fashion.

“Both camps have come to an agreement that Nathaniel May and Waylon Law will still be held in Perth as originally scheduled, but these things happen,” said Colman. “It’s just not meant to be for this card”.

“Although the fight with Waylon has been postponed the new challenge set in by the WBO of James Mokoginta poses to be a cracker of a main event still, he is a very experienced youth with over two hundered professional rounds under his belt already.”

“Mokoginta has fought all over the Asia Pacific region and been quite an active boxer for such a young age of only twenty three years old.”

In addition to the aforementioned, the card is considerably special as the event – titled “Fighting For Kira” – has a charitable cause with all proceeds from this event going towards a special little girl, going through a battle of her own.

Kira Joyce is only two years old, but in her short time has been faced with leukaemia and many other complications that come with it approximately fifteen weeks ago. The CDL Boxing Promotions has graciously hosted their Western Alliance 14 card in her honour.

The aim of the card is to help assist Kira and her family with funding for treatment and further guidance for what will be required in time to come.
