Mundine vs. Hatley signed, set for November 11th in Melbourne

ANTHONY Mundine will make the first defence of his WBC Silver light middleweight title on November 11th at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre against American Charles Hatley.

The card will be promoted by Brian Amatruda’s Big Time Boxing and will be televised live on Main Event pay-per-view. Although the undercard is yet to be announced, two more high-profile fights are expected.

The Texas-based Hatley (25-1-1, 17 KOs) nick named ‘The Future’, may not be the big name opponent many expected – but he will provide Mundine with a solid test – given his impressive amateur career.

Hatley, 29, has an impressive 250-12 ledger as an amateur and was a 2008 Olympic alternate, while also winning the U.S. national title at welterweight in 2007.

For Mundine, 40, the twelve round title defence will be his first fight since edging the previously unbeaten Sergey Rabchenko last November.

Mundine (47-6, 27 KOs) has endured a frustrating year after his anticipated grudge match against Austin Trout in Texas failed to eventuate following Mundine’s withdrawal due to a perforated eardrum.
