Soliman hits the road for world title tilt
SAM ‘King’ Soliman flies out of Melbourne on Thursday for the final leg of his preparation before taking on middleweight titlist, Felix Sturm in Germany on Saturday May 31st for the IBF middleweight championship.
“The countdown to the biggest fight of my 23 year career has just started,” said Soliman.
“It’s not going to be a cake walk. I know I’m going to have to show Sturm the proper respect. To do that I’m doing everything I can to be properly prepared.”
“When Felix Sturm and I last met in the ring, in February last year, I triumphed.
“I know I can beat him, because I have. He doesn’t know if he can beat me, because he hasn’t.”
Team Soliman will set up training camp at an undisclosed location in Europe, before heading to Krefeld, Germany for the weigh-in and fight.
“We’ve been there before. We have a lot of friends and a strong support base in Germany. I am focused and I’m working on the game plan to bring the world title back to Australia.”
