THE fairytale story of Sam Soliman opened another chapter, when he picked up the IBF middleweight title with a hard-fought unanimous decision over reigning champion Felix Sturm of Germany.

 
The victory was the summary of a near two-decade professional career that has seen the Melbourne-based Soliman travel the world in search of an ever elusive world title.

 
The judges unanimously favoured Soliman by scorecards of 118-110 (twice) and 117-111. Soliman’s record improved to 44-11 (18 KOs), while Sturm’s log dropped to 39-4-3 (18 KOs).
