Weigh-In Results: Ibrahim Balla 58.30 vs. Neil John Tabanao 57.10

 
IBRAHIM Balla has failed to make weight ahead of his regional title fight against Neil John Tabanao.

 
The 25-year-old Werribee product tipped the scales tonight at 58.30, more than a kilogram over the 57.20 kilogram featherweight limit at the official weigh-in for ‘Battle on the Goldfields 2’ at The Boardwalk Bendigo.

 
Balla, a former Olympian and two-division Australian titleholder, appears to have grown out of featherweight in just one fight, with his lone appearance being a one round demolition of Emmanuel Micallef in March.

 
Despite the weight issues, event promoter Lynden Hosking is ecstatic with the support the event has received.

 
“The build-up has been enormous with the radio and newspapers right behind us,” said Hosking. “This has generated massive interest in the event and it’s great that the city of Greater Bendigo has gotten behind it.”

 
“Tickets are available at the Bendigo Stadium Box Office from 4:30pm for anyone wanting tickets on the day.”
