Weigh-In Results: Peter Quillin 160 vs. Michael Zerafa 162

AUSTRALIAN middleweight prospect Michael Zerafa and Peter Quillin weighed-in earlier today ahead of their ten round non-title fight in Mashantucket, Connecticut tomorrow morning.

Zerafa, 23, and Quillin, 32, both tipped the scales inside their agreed 162 pound catchweight.

The former WBO middleweight champion, flanked by his long-time trainer Eric Brown, weighed in at 160 pounds, while the Australian, closely followed by head trainer Joe Nader, tipped the scales at an even 162 pounds.

“I believe fighting Quillin is a huge and risky fight but to be the best you have to fight them,” said Zerafa to Aus-Boxing. “Winning this will open up those doors,”

“Being the underdog or not doesn’t really bother me – I am set out to do a job whether on top or not – myself and the camp know it’s a huge task ahead but have confidence in ourselves for an upset.”

“For me as a fighter travelling has never been my favourite thing but find I have settled in quite well. The jet lag has lasted longer than I thought but I’ve bounced back slowly.”
