Weigh-In Results: Jeff Horn 66.52 vs. Gary Corcoran 66.47
THERE was a noticeable shift in mood between both Jeff Horn and Gary Corcoran at their official weigh-in.
After months of polite exchanges, Horn (17-0-1, 11 KOs) and Corcoran (17-1, 7 KOs) were all business after tipping the scales in Brisbane earlier this afternoon. The 29-year-old Horn, who will make the first defence of his WBO welterweight crown on Wednesday night, faced an anxious cut, having to lose approximately four kilograms on the final day.
Meanwhile, Corcoran, 27, cut a relaxed figure with only one kilogram separating him from the welterweight limit of 66.68 kilograms.
Legendary emcee Michael Buffer, who will host tomorrow’s card, confirmed Horn’s official weight of 66.52 kilograms, while the unheralded Corcoran seemed to make 66.47 kilograms with relative ease. A short interview with both combatants was followed by the traditional face-off, before both camps swiftly departed.
There will be a star-studded line-up at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, including former lineal light welterweight champion and rumoured Horn opponent Terence Crawford, along with WBO heavyweight ruler Joseph Parker and former light welterweight titleholder Amir Khan.
