Nathaniel May ready to deliver the Law

NATHANIEL May and his management have secured the ultimate rematch, 2011 fight of the year contender; Waylon Law with his eyes set on the prize for a World Ranking with the World Boxing Organisation (WBO).

On Friday, 29th August in Perth, Nathaniel May has the opportunity to set the records straight with his rematch bout against Waylon Law signed sealed and delivered.

May lost a controversial decision over six rounds against Waylon Law on Valentine’s Day earlier this year on a card promoted by Angelo Di Carlo’s Ace Boxing Promotions on Fox Sports.

Nathaniel’s most recent bout was a shutout victory over reigning Australian bantamweight champion Roberto Lerio on CDL Boxing Promotions Western Alliance event, while Law was knocked out by Australian super-featherweight champion Kye MacKenzie in his most recent bout last month.

“I’ve wanted this rematch for a while, but it was only a matter of time, I’m certain it’s going to be a war like my last fight – but this time my hand will be raised,” said May.

Trainer Peter Stokes reiterated his fighters sentiment, saying “I’m excited about it, got a point to prove we got robbed the first time and it won’t happen again, Waylon will struggle to find any distance from Nathaniel”.

May’s scheduled to showcase in front of his Bunbury hometown crowd on July 12th against durable Korean Hwi Jong Kim over 8 rounds a worthy opponent to be standing in front of May.

“I’ve so far had a great camp, sparring regular ten and twelve rounds with fellow stable mate Baz Wallace current national amateur champion helping me with fast hands and movement alongside fellow indigenous pro’s Brandon Olgilvie and Matt Garlett being regular sparring partners, I can’t wait!”

Recently signing to CDL Boxing Promotions, May has landed his opportunity of becoming world recognised and confirmed to appear already on three further CDL events in Perth this year alone.

“Having only recently signed with CDL Boxing Promotions; I believe has been the best decision I’ve made alongside my coach Peter Stokes, it’s already given me title opportunities, reassurance and guidance with all aspects of my career moving forward, I’m really looking forward to working together for years to come.” May continued.

Coach Peter Stokes also said, “Being a part of CDL Boxing Promotions has allowed us greater opportunities to develop our fan base and having someone assist us with the day to day procedures of building such a prospect we have in Nathaniel.”
